Chase Ends in Crash Suspect in Custody

(Park Hills, MO) Charges will be filed against a man from French Village after he led authorities on a high speed chase Thursday afternoon through Leadington and Park Hills. The chase began about 4:50 near the Highway 67 Fairgrounds exit as police attempted to pull the man, who is in his 20's, over for driving what was reported as a stolen car out of Ste. Genevieve County. The pursuit continued over several roads and highways including Park HIlls Drive and St. Joe Drive before the suspect vehicle crashed in the woods off Doss Road. The K9 Unit from the Desloge Police Department was deployed and the suspect was located hiding in a log pile near the scene of the wreck. The suspect was captured without further incident and was taken into custody and released to Emergency Services Personnel for a possible leg injury. Charges are expected to be filed soon. Until then the man's name is not being released. Reports indicate he is accused of stealing several vehicles this year.
