Calvert Named New Public Safety Director

Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - In a letter, released Tuesday, August 13, 2024, by Bonne Terre Police Chief Doug Calvert, he announced that he has been promoted to a new position within the City of Bonne Terre.

Calvert expressed his thanks to City Administrator Shawn Kay, Mayor Erik Schonhardt, and to the city aldermen for creating the new position of Public Safety Director.  

Calvert said it has been a goal of his to serve the city in this capacity. 

Calvert proposed the idea of Public Safety Director, to the city coucil, over two decades ago, however the funding and resources to have the position did not exist.

As of January, 1, 2025, Calvert will have served as police chief for the City of Bonne Terre for 20 years, with 33 years of experience in law enforcement.
