Bonne Terre Teen Injured in Accident

(Jefferson Co., MO) A 17 year old male juvenile from Bonne Terre is recovering from moderate injuries after he was involved in a two vehicle crash in Jefferson County, Saturday night just after 9:30.

According to Highway Patrol reports the accident took place on Route E, at upper Blackwell Road. An SUV was being driven east on Upper Blackwell by 39 year old Tarik Menkovic, of Desoto, as the 17 year old was driving a car south on Route E. The teen failed to stop at a stop sign and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The 17 year old, and a passenger in Menkovic's SUV, 51 year old Brian R. Johnson, who also received moderate injuries, were transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson at Festus.

No one was wearing a seat belt during the accident.
