(Leadwood, MO) Country Music Star Jeannie Kendall and ReKendalls are this year's headlining act for the Mineral Area Bluegrass Association's Bluegrass, Country, and Gospel Music Festival. Kendall says their hit, Heaven's Just a Sin Away, was pitched to her father Royce, by a songwriter friend of theirs.
According to Kendall they came up with a new record company affiliation and the rest is history. Kendall will take the stage at 7 o'clock Saturday night. Some of the other groups performing at the festival include The Punches, Frank Ray and Cedar Hill, as well as local bands Sweetwater Holler and Route 67. There will also be a special veteran's tribute, plenty of food, and games for the kids. The festival will be held Friday and Saturday, October 1st and 2nd in Leadwood City Park. The program starts this Friday evening October 1st in Leadwood City Park and continues through October 2nd.
