Authorities Searching for Suspect Cody Hunt, Linked to Abduction of Dale William Ryerson

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Washington County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning to residents of the Potosi and Hopewell areas, urging them to be on alert for 34-year-old Cody Lee Hunt, who is currently suspected to be in the region. Hunt is considered armed and dangerous, and authorities advise the public not to approach him. Anyone who sees Hunt is urged to immediately contact dispatch at 573-438-1079.

This alert follows an Endangered Person Advisory issued by the Sullivan Police Department for 63-year-old Dale William Ryerson, who disappeared from the vicinity of Jones Street at midnight on Tuesday. Ryerson is believed to have been abducted by Hunt and may have sustained injuries during the abduction.

Authorities have also released a description of Hunt's vehicle—a silver 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Missouri license plate EK3R7P—and are asking the public to call 911 or the Sullivan Police Department at 573-468-8001 with any information regarding their whereabouts.

Ryerson’s condition remains unknown as law enforcement continues to search for him. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward, as this is a high-priority investigation aimed at safely locating Ryerson.
