People across America are remembering those who lost their lives September 11th, 2001, during the terrorist attacks that destroyed New York's Twin Towers killing thousands of Americans. Missouri State Representative, Chris Dinkins, who serves the 144th District, says we should remember the attack itself and never forget those who lost their lives but we should also remember the courage and bravery of those who responded to the situation as well.
Four airliners were hijacked by 19 terrorists. Two smashed into the Twin Towers in Manhattan, one was flown into the pentagon, and a fourth was headed towards the White House. Passengers on that plane, Flight 93, were able to stop the hijackers. Unfortunately all on board perished as the plane crashed into a filed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. A special memorial stands in the filed as a memorial to the Americans who kept the jet from it's intended destination.
