State Approval of Open Enrollment and Funding Problems

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Open enrollment for Missouri School Districts could be approved by the state legislature this session.

The Assistant Superintendent of the Central Schools District, Dr. Zech Payne, says this could prove problematic for school funding.

Payne explains the way the bill is written would give district's the choice to participate in allowing students to come to their district but they would have no authority to say if students could leave the district.

Payne urges voters to contact their legislators for more information and to express any concerns they have with the measure.
