Legislative Session Begins in Jefferson City

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Missouri's legislative session begins today in Jefferson City with the swearing in of state officials. The newly elected Senator for the 3rd District, Mike Henderson, says one of the issues expected to be discussed this session is lowering taxes for Missourians.

Some legislators are proposing phasing the state's income tax out while others disagree and are pushing for ending the sales tax on groceries and other daily use items. The session starts at noon today in Jefferson City.
